McAfee virus database is not working?

I recenlty prushced a dell laptop from QVC and it came with a four year virus protection plan from McAfee. So I downloded it yesterday and it worked fine. Now today when I went on my laptop my virus deta base icon doesnt work and when I click on it I get a blank scren. I tried to re-downlode it but it didn't work. What do I do???
